Everyone's a little bit racist...

After the whole Michael Richards fiasco that happened a week ago, it got me thinking...according to him that was the first time he used that word negatively and directly to someone...so, maybe the writers of Avenue Q are right...even if you don't like to think so...everyone IS a little bit racist sometimes....

Princeton: Say, Kate, can I ask you a question?
Kate: Sure!
Princeton: Well, you know Trekkie Monster upstairs?
Kate: Yeah
Princeton: Well, he's Trekkie Monster and you're Kate Monster
Kate: Right
Princeton: You're both Monsters
Kate: Yeah
Princeton: Are you two related?
Kate: What?! Princeton, I'm surprised at you! I find that racist!
Princeton: Oh, well I'm sorry! I was just asking!
Kate: Well, it's a touchy subject. No, not all Monsters are related. What are you trying to say, huh? That we all look the same to you? Huh, huh, huh?
Princeton: No, no, no not at all. I'm sorry, I guess that was a little racist.
Kate: I should say so. You should be more careful when talking about the sensitive subject of race.
Princeton: Well, look who's talking!
Kate: What do you mean?
Princeton: What about that special Monster school you were telling me about.
Kate: What about it?
Princeton: Could someone like me go there?
Kate: No, we don't want people like you-
Princeton: You see?! You're a little bit racist.
Kate: Well, you're a little bit too.
Princeton: I guess we're both a little bit racist
Kate: Admitting it is not an easy thing to do
Princeton: But I guess it's true
Kate: Between me and you, I think...

Both: Everyone's a little bit racist sometimes. Doesn't mean we go around committing hate crimes. Look around and you will find, no one's really colorblind. Maybe it's a fact we all should face, everyone makes judgments based on race.

Princeton: Now, not big judgments, like who to hire or who to buy a newspaper from-
Kate: No!
Princeton: No, just little judgments like thinking that Mexican busboys should learn to speak goddamn English!
Kate: Right!

Both: Everyone's a little bit racist today. So everyone's a little bit racist, okay! Ethnic jokes might be uncouth, but you laugh because they're based on truth. Don't take them as personal attacks. Everyone enjoys them, so relax!

Princeton: All right, stop me if you've heard this one.
Kate: Okay!
Princeton: There's a plane going down and there's only one parachute. And there's a rabbi, a priest...
Kate: And a black guy!
Gary Coleman: What'choo talking 'bout Kate?
Kate: Uh...
Gary Coleman: You were telling a black joke!
Princeton: Well, sure Gary, but lots of people tell black jokes
Gary Coleman: I don't.
Princeton: Well, of course you don't-you're black! But I bet you tell Polack jokes, right?
Gary Coleman: Well, sure I do. Those stupid Polacks!
Princeton: Now don't you think that's a little bit racist?
Gary Coleman: Well, damn I guess you're right!
Kate: You're a little bit racist
Gary Coleman: Well, you're a little bit too.
Princeton: We're all a little bit racist
Gary Coleman: I think I would have to agree with you
Princeton/Kate: We're glad you do
Gary Coleman: It's sad but true! Everyone's a little bit racist-all right!
Kate: All right!
Princeton: All right!
Gary Coleman: All right, bigotry has never been exclusively white

All: If we all could just admit that we are racist a little bit, even though we all know that it's wrong. Maybe it would help us get along.

Princeton: Oh, Christ, do I feel good!
Gary Coleman: Now there was a fine upstanding black man!
Princeton: Who?
Gary Coleman: Jesus Christ
Kate: But, Gary, Jesus was white
Gary Coleman: No, Jesus was black
Kate: No, Jesus was white
Gary Coleman: No, I'm pretty sure that Jesus was black
Princeton: Guys, guys...Jesus was Jewish!

Brian: Hey, guys what are you laughing about?
Gary Coleman: Racism!
Brian: Cool
Christmas Eve: BRIAN! Come back here! You take out lecycuraburs!
Princeton: What does that mean?
Brian: Um, recyclables. Hey, don't laugh at her! How many languages do you speak?
Kate: Oh, come off it Brian! Everyone's a little bit racist
Brian: I'm not!
Princeton: Oh no?
Brian: Nope! How many oriental wives have you got?
Christmas Eve: What? Brian!
Princeton: Brian, buddy, where have you been? The term is Asian-American
Christmas Eve: I know you are not intending to be, but calling me Oriental, offensive to me!
Brian: I'm sorry, honey. I love you.
Christmas Eve: And I love you.
Brian: But you're racist too.
Christmas Eve: I know. The Jews have all the money and the whites have all the power. And I'm always in a taxi-cab with a driver who no shower!
Princeton: Me too!
Kate: Me too!
Gary Coleman: I can't even get a taxi!

All: Everyone's a little bit racist, it's true. But everyone's just about as racist as you! If we all could just admit it that were are racist a little bit and everyone stopped being so PC. Maybe we could live in harmony!

Christmas Eve: Evlyone's a ritter bit lacist!

Yay home...

I'm finally at home for the next 6 days. I'm really looking forward to doing nothing for a bit. I got all my homework and tests turned in so I don't have anything to do. I filled out some paperwork at Bed, Bath and Beyond so it's not official that I'll be going back for the Christmas season. I also got December 29th off already, so I will be at the party...yay!

Anyway, that's all for now. I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving and see you all on Sunday!

Neat...

So putting homework off to the last minute really wasn't a good idea. I was going through all the things I have to get done before I go home for Thanksgiving, and it's a lot more than I thought. At least I have nothing to do on Saturday, so I'll be doing homework all day...wahoo. Most of it is reading for my Women's Studies class for our test on Tuesday...but I really am hoping she makes it a take home, so I can just do that and get it out of the way and not have to worry about time. And if she does make it a take home, I'll do it over the weekend and then turn it into her on Monday so I can go home on Monday...I'm hoping, but I won't get them up too high because more likely than not she'll just have the test on Tuesday.

I have a test tomorrow and I am really trying to study for it, but right now I am just lacking the motivation. And the teacher I have for the class is really nice, but sometimes I think she has no idea what she's talking about. And she gives us this huge study guide for only ONE part of the test and really what I have to do is just memorize...but it's a lot of crap and I doubt I'll get it all in my head for tomorrow. Oh well, at least we had a quiz on the other part of the test, so I know all that information already, I just need to review it.

I registered last night and it went smoothly as opposed to last year...haha. And one of my friends is in pretty much all of my classes except one. We're even taking Anatomy and the same lab together, so at least it'll go decently, I hope.

I really can't wait to go home. I got Monday off of work mainly because it'll be my last day before Thanksgiving and I really just want to get all my crap done for school, and because Mondays at work suck since they never have anything to do there so time goes by really slow. Unfortunately next semester I have to work on Mondays again, but whatever. At least it's money. I'm also leaving an hour earlier on Sunday, so that'll be nice at least.

Well, other than overwhelming stress since it's nearing the end of the semester...not much else has been going on. My mom called and said Sammi has an ear infection, so she's been pretty miserable lately. But yeah, not much else.

Well, I hope everyone else is dealing with their stress better than me...haha. I hope everyone had a good day!

No title....

Today was okay...it could have been worse...could have been better. I woke up and really didn't want to go to class, but since I missed all of them on Tuesday, I figured it wouldn't be good to miss another day. We did the shot by shot analysis thing in Film, which I hope I understand. We'll see though. I'm also thinking that I probably won't get into that Human Sexuality class with Chris because yesterday I looked at it and it had 46 spots remaining...I look today and now there are only 11 spots remaining and I register next Wednesday...maybe I'll luck out and not many more people will register for it...but who knows as of now. Maybe I can even green card into it, but I have a back up class just in case that one does close and I can't get into it.

Well, other than that not much has been going on. Everyone still seems all blah (myself included) and I hopefully think that things will get better after Thanksgiving break or even Christmas break. It's sad that everyone has a cloud hanging over their heads, but I don't think it's just us...I'm pretty sure EVERYONE is having a shitty semester.

Anywho, that's it. I hope everyone's days get better...

What the hell...

So, this morning I woke up at around 8 and really, really didn't feel like going to my first class, so I reset my alarm and went back to bed. I got up for my second class and felt this pain in the lower right part of my stomach (yeah, that's where the appendix is). So, I was kind of freaking out, but it didn't feel that bad. I go to my second class, sit down, and she starts handing back papers. She calls my name, I get up and get a really bad pain in my stomach again. So after I turned in my papers and got my other ones back, I went home and called my mom. She told me to by some Mylanta and that if I don't feel better after taking that and the pain gets worse I should probably go to the clinic or ER or whatever. Well, I decided not to go to my third class (yeah, I haven't gone to class today, wahoo), and take a nap and see if the pain would go away if I just slept. I slept for like an hour and a half and the pain is still there (and a touch worse, but not bad enough for it to be appendicitis...yet). I'm probably not going to go to film, so I will have gone to about 10 minutes of class today out of the 4 that I have on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I just hope it doesn't get worse because a trip to the hospital is really not on my to do list for today.

I really just hope it's something else like my mom said. I'm supposed to call her later with how I'm feeling. I'm really seriously hoping that how it feels now is at bad as it gets, because right now I don't feel it really, when I get up, I feel it a little bit. I'll probably tell you all in person, but if I don't get to see any of you before you read this...just a heads up, there's an I hope slim chance that one of you may have to take me to the hospital.

Ugh, well, that's it for me. Yay for shitty days.

Meh...

Today was decent I guess. I had 3 tests today, so that kind of sucked, but oh well. I think I did fairly well on them, so we'll see when I get them back. Tonight was kind of interesting. I went to the UC for my "outside event" for my Women's Studies class, and they had a speaker who was transgender, and it was actually enjoyable to listen to her (she was born a man, now she's a woman). She was very nice and didn't get political which I like. I also saw my friend Jill there who I haven't seen since last year, and she's pregnant again. She's actually due in January so she's really far along and it was kind of shocking to see her. She looks really good though and it was nice to see her again. Hopefully I'll see her again before the semester ends or even after her baby is born...who knows though.

Well, other than that nothing much has been going. I went grocery shopping today and that hurt especially since I had to pay 30 dollars for my prescription and then an additional 30 for my groceries...even though it was actually a little bit more since I had to buy more shampoo and conditioner and more toilet paper. And I've decided that toilet paper is too damn expensive. 8 dollars for 12 rolls...especially since it's freaking Kroger brand! Whatever Becky. My legs are also getting really itchy...I hope I'm not getting some sort of reaction to my new pants...that would kind of suck.

Well, that's about it for now...I hope everyone had a decent day as well. See you all tomorrow!
