Some contemplation...

No one is invincible. Bad things can happen to anyone at anytime. I just read one of my good friend's blog on MySpace and learned that she was in a really bad car accident with 2 other guys...and all 3 of them walked away from it with barely a scratch. They were all wearing their seatbelts, they were all sober, it was just a freak thing that was a result of lack of warning and a fork in the road. I'm glad they are all okay...but it makes you think that if it can happen to one of your friends, it can definitely happen to you too. As soon as I read that and what she wrote since she is taking this as a huge second chance since they could have easily died in that accident...you don't realize how much you're risking just by simply driving to the grocery store, or anywhere.

It's hard to imagine that everytime you sit behind the wheel or get in the car with anyone, that you're risking your life. Anything can happen between here and King Soopers. You hear of all these accidents and go "aw, that's too bad...I hope they'll be okay." But when it happens to one of your own friends your thinking changes a bit because it hits so close to home. That could have easily been anyone of us. And that's a scary thought. After hearing what happened to her, I'm definitely going to be a lot more cautious behind the wheel and a lot more cautious as to who I want to get in the car with. I hope all of you will do the same. This time they got lucky. But what about next time, God forbid there is one. Cars are dangerous, even though it's hard to think of them that way.
